Light Alloy Team

-Team research direction

Light alloy materials (Ultralight Mg-Li alloys; Advanced Mg alloys; Al-Li alloys; Marine Al alloys)

-Application background

Lightweight demand of aerospace, automobile, shipbuilding and other fields, as well as the application of metal materials with structural and functional integration and functional materials in biomedical and energy fields.

-Team overview

It has carried out research on light metal materials for nearly 20 years, and has won 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes at provincial and ministerial level, the Annual Youth Award of the International Magnesium Science and Technology and the Young Scientist Award of the International Association of Advanced Materials. The members has been selected in the Lifetime Achievement List of the world's top 2% scientists and the 2022 Science Impact List. The team has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects, such as the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the key project of the Joint Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation, the key project of the Field Fund of the Department of Installation and Development of the Central Military Commission, and the general/youth project of the National Natural Science Foundation. The team has published more than 200 SCI papers, including 3 ESI hot papers, 12 highly cited papers, has more than 30 authorized invention patents, many of which have been applied. Many graduate students have won the national scholarship, and one doctor and one master have won the outstanding dissertation award of the Chinese Society of Non-ferrous Metals respectively.

-Next development plan

On the basis of expanding the research team, we will conduct in-depth basic research, promote the application of the developed materials in related models, and further carry out international cooperation and exchanges.
