The surface and interface science and technology research team was established in 2013. With the background of surface engineering and materials science, the team faces the needs of national strategic engineering, key science and technology plans, national security and national defense construction, and closely focuses on the fields of shipbuilding industry, naval equipment, aerospace and nuclear protection, and aims to build surface protection and emergency security technology systems for critical components. The team has been engaged in the research of surface protection, intensification and remediation technology of critical components under harsh working conditions for a long time.
Main research directions include:
1) High-energy beam surface strengthening and additive manufacturing technology
2) High performance metastable coating (plating) preparation technology
3) Design theory and preparation technology of high entropy coating
4) Underwater laser additive manufacturing theory and remediation technology
5) Advanced environmental barrier coating/high temperature thermal protection material design and development
6) Directional research and development of polar low temperature/nuclear protection/high temperature anti-ablation coating
The team has 13 full-time teaching/research staff, including 5 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 2 post-doctors and 1 technician. It has undertaken more than dozens of Key Projects of Chinese National Security Programs for Fundamental Research and Development, Key Project of Chinese National Programs for Fundamental Research and Development, National Natural Science Foundation of China (16) and military defense projects, won 6 ministerial and provincial level awards, and authorized 85 patents. It has cultivated more than 200 doctoral and master students and more than 300 undergraduates. It has sent a large number of outstanding undergraduate/master/doctoral talents to domestic and foreign research institutes such as China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, Aero Engine Corporation of China, and large enterprises such as Huawei and Zhongxing Telecom Equipment, playing an important role in promoting materials disciplines of our university to the domestic first-class level.
