The Material Corrosion and Protection Research Team was established in May 2005, dedicated to the research of corrosion mechanisms and protection technologies for ship and marine engineering materials. In recent years, it has undertaken 7 projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 sub-projects of National Key Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), 12 military defense projects, and 1 Infrastructure Complementary Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The team currently has 4 research members, including 1 professor, 2 associate professors, and 1 post-doctor.
Main research directions include:
1) Mechanism and protection technology of metal corrosion in deep-sea environment
2) Hydrogen embrittlement corrosion mechanism of materials
3) Corrosion mechanism of aluminum alloy
4) Development of new heavy anti-corrosion coatings
5) Light metal surface modification and microarc oxidation technology
Simulative corrosion test in deep-sea environment (Electrochemical Testing Equipment)
